Beauty Favourites 2016

Well another year is almost done and dusted and boy what a year! Discovered some amazing products this year, not necessarily new but products I couldn’t put down in 2016. If you follow me on Instagram most of these products won’t be a surprise to you as they made weekly appearances on my makeup of the day posts.

I hope you enjoy this post and I would love to hear what your favourites were in the comment section below 🙂

Too Faced Hangover RX replenishing face primer

I don’t know what it took me till only I few months ago to try this primer out but damn this primer will now be a staple product in my collection. This primer is so smooth and moisturising and creates the PERFECT base for the rest of my makeup.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in light 3 Gobi

Holy Moly!!! This foundation is incredible! It feels so lightweight but gives great medium to full coverage and looks so natural on the skin. It matches my skin perfectly and lasts so well throughout the day. I haven’t nothing negative to say about this foundation and it applies great with a brush or sponge.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Fair

One days where my eye area looks like a black hole this is the only concealer I’ve tried that conceals it all and actually brightens under my eyes. This shade is super light as well which can be hard to find in concealers, especially in the drugstore. The only thing I dislike is the packaging with the sponge applicator. The germaphobe in me hates it. But the actual product is incredible!

Face Powder

RCMA No-Color Powder

This is the ONLY face powder I use now. It’s super cheap and you get a tonne of product. The packaging to be honest sucks but I just emptied a powder sifter container of a product I never used and put this product in it and I love it. Works great with a brush or damp sponge. Sets my foundation and concealer perfectly without leaving a white cast and leaves my skin feeling silky soft and isn’t drying at all.

Facial Spray

MAC Prep + Prime Fix +

I use this every single day and have lost count how many bottles I’ve used now. I use it as a primer or to set down all the powders on my face once I’m finished with my makeup or to intensify metallic or foiled eyeshadows.

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed

This blush is so natural and subtle but I love it so much as it goes with any makeup look and I don’t like intense blushes as I usually have a bold lip or eye look going on but still want a little colour on the cheeks. It’s perfection!

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

For my skin tone I should probably use milk chocolate but I just got light handed and I absolutely love it. Smells like chocolate and blends so well into the skins and lasts really well.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost in Lavender Snow

I lost count of the amount of highlighters I got in 2016 so it was so difficult to just choose one. But lavender snow is so unique and the formula is so buttery it just melts into the skin. If you haven’t tried any of the Skin Frosts yet I highly recommend giving them a go. I’m OBSESSED!!

Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Brow pencil and Gimme Brow

Well no surprise here that these are my favourites this year. Before 2016 I honestly did Zero with my brows as I just had no idea how to go about them but with these two products it makes it so easy to fill in and shape my eyebrows, while still looking natural.

Single Eyeshadows

Urban Decay Moon Dust eyeshadows in Space Cowboy and Solstice

I could talk about these forever! They are still and I need all of the shades. I love these for adding that wow factor to my eye look with these stunning glitter eyeshadows. They aren’t chunky at all and look almost wet when applied. Everyone needs these shades!!!
Liquid liner

Maybelline Hyper Sharp liquid liner

The only liner I have used all year and never fails me. Super black, dries down matte and doesn’t budge.

Too Faced Better than Sex mascara

I’ve gone through a few travel sizes and a full size of this mascara and for good reason. It makes my lashes so big and full. It can be clumpy if you aren’t careful but if you make sure to get rid of the excess on the applicator before applying it’s perfection.
Eyeshadow Palettes

Makeup Geek x Mannymua Eyeshadow palette

My favourite palette of the year!! It was tough getting this palette on launch day and I think it took me the most part of the first week it launched to finally get through checkout but it was definitely worth it. All the shades are shades I always go for and Luna (top right) shade is my favourite shade in any palette I own and will be devasted when I hit pan. So sad this palette was limited edition.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette

I think this is my favourite Too Faced eyeshadow palette that I own. It has the perfect everyday natural shades with some great pops of colour. Most shades have amazing pigmentation and blend out really well.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer eyeshadow palette

When I first saw this palette reveal I was so excited by the shade range and love to death most of these shades. I don’t reach for the gold, pink or blue shades as much as the others but they all have amazing pigmentation and blend out effortlessly. China white is probably my most used shade as an all over shade before applying the rest of my eye look and wished it came in a single.

Shanghai Suzy Lipstick in Dusty Rose

I received this lipstick at a blogging event and it’s been in my work bag since. It smells like grape and the colour is so stunning and perfect for everyday. Lasts so well and is a matte formula.
Liquid Lipstick

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Gemini

As you all know my favourite liquid lipsticks are from Jeffree Star but I had to choose just one for this year’s favourites so I chose Gemini. I’ve used this shades probably the most or on par with Celebrity Skin and it’s a perfect warm dark nude shade that I have completely fallen in love with.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate

I use this most nights before bed and it leaves my face so moisturised and soft. A little goes a long way and it’s so affordable too.
Shower Gel

LUSH Rose Jam Shower Gel

I have a ridiculous obsession with the scent and seriously can’t stop using this. It’s not the cheapest shower gel going around but this one is just crazy good and smells sooooo damn good!!
Well that was my favourites for 2016. Thank you all so so much for all the love and support this year and can’t wait to create more content for you in 2017!
