The Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette has been all over social media the past few weeks and for good reason. The second I saw the first images online of this palette I new I had to have it! All of the shades in this palette are shades I always use and I loved the thought of having all of those shades in the one palette.
As this is my first Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette, with this palette and the first, receiving so many mixed reviews and the price of $95AUD I was a little hesitant to purchase this palette to be honest. But the shades were just too stunning and now that Sephora Australia has Afterpay on their app I definitely couldn’t say no to this beauty.
Swatches of the left side of the palette.
I love these top three shades (Desert sand, Musk, Eden) on the left side of the palette as they are amazing base and crease shades to start any look and are all easy to apply, pigmented and blend out beautifully without turning muddy when you layer on more shades.
The rest of the shades on this side are metallics and duo chromes with one pressed glitter (Cosmo). I find that all of these shades apply best with a good base underneath and using your finger to apply them and then blending them out with a small blending brush for the most pay off of colour. Cosmo being a pressed glitter definitely needs a glitter glue as a base to stick to but once it’s on is absolutely stunning!
Swatches of the right side of the palette.
The right side of the palette is definitely more warm with its hot oranges and reds. These shades are insane. If you get the chance to go in store and swatch these, do, you will understand my love for these shadows. Blood Moon and Turkish Delight are the most buttery metallics and and absolute dream to apply. The pigmentation on these shadows are nuts and will bump up any eye look. Retrograde is a stunning red/blue duo chrome and this is my favourite type of shade to put all over the lid.
Overall, the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette has everything I could ever want in an eyeshadow palette and if you’re like me and love these types of shades I highly recommend picking this one up.
Hope you enjoyed this review and if you have this palette I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section.
