Jaclyn Hill X Morphe – eyeshadow palette review and swatches

By now I think everyone with social media has seen a million photos of this palette, but here’s a few more 😉 . I purchased the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe eyeshadow palette a couple of months ago from the Morphe website (which as I am writing this is still in stock). The shipping to Australia and the exchange rate killed me and this palette ended up costing me $100AUD!!! I was a little sceptical of this palette as I saw a few negative reviews but I am a huge fan of Jaclyn Hill and strongly believed that she wouldn’t create a product that wasn’t 100% perfect.

The Jaclyn Hill palette really is incredible! The shade range is amazing and so many looks can be created using this palette. This is a great palette to travel with as it has more that enough options and the sturdy cardboard packaging keeps your shadows safe.

I have used this palette numerous times and can only find three negatives, for me personally.

  1. I wish the cardboard packaging had a clear gloss coating so that it wouldn’t get so dirty, so quickly.
  2. I always use a matte bone shade to set my entire lid area before applying the rest of my shadows and this palette doesn’t have one.
  3. The shade names are so creative and personal to Jaclyn and they aren’t anywhere on the palette. I didn’t receive the shade name sheet with my palette either so had to refer to photos online. Wish they were printed on the back of the palette.

The positives far outweigh the negatives though as this palette could be used by ANYONE. whether you are a beginner or a Makeup artist. The shades are so easy to work with, have incredible pigmentation, blend out effortlessly and last all day long! I love applying the metallic shades either with a damp shader brush or my fingers.

Overall, I absolutely love this palette and highly recommend it as it is so versatile and the quality is amazing.

  1. I wanted this palette too but shipping to Canada was over $30US!! I couldn’t justify it. It’s silly that the shade names aren’t printed on the palette. There’s so many tutorials with this palette but it’s hard to reference the shades. Also I wish she inIcluded a mirror! Especially since the price is so much higher than other Morphe palettes. It is beautiful though. xo J
