Jeffree Star Cosmetics Summer 2018 Collection & Thirsty Palette review & swatches

Well where to start! It’s a Monday here in freezing Melbourne (It’s winter here at the moment) and the FedEx guy just dropped off the most SUMMER feeling collection yet from Jeffree Star Cosmetics. It definitely brighten up my day that’s for sure. I am forever grateful to be on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics PR list as it is my FAVOURITE makeup brand and money has been super tight this year so still being able to collect all of the new collections makes me so incredibly happy. Even though this has been sent to me all of my opinions are my own and I am always honest with you on how a product works for me and what I think about it. I also made an order on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics site on launch day (which was 3am Sunday morning here in Melbourne) to order the Grape Soda lip scrub and preordered the Orange Star Mirror, Orange Travel Bag and the Translucent Creamsicle Makeup Bag which I am so excited for! (and I will add photos and a review on those items to this post once I receive them)

The Summer 2018 Collection includes the following:

4 Velour Lip Scrubs

  • Grape Soda
  • Orange Gummy Bear
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Rainbow Sherbet

8 Velour Liquid Lipstick

  • Soft Serve
  • Thirst Trap
  • (818)
  • Cherry Wet
  • Coral Fixation
  • Yummy
  • Fudge Pop
  • Huntington Beach

Plus a heap of accessories and clothing and of course the Thirsty palette 🙂

Velour Lip Scrubs

These lip scrubs are by far my favourite lip scrubs i’ve tried! There is so many yummy flavours to choose from and they work so well in exfoliating the lips and really any dry patches you may have on your skin. They are always edible (very addicting) so try not to eat the whole tub the first time you try one of these. Out of these three I love Pink Lemonade the most it just smells and tastes AMAZING!!!

Velour Liquid Lipsticks

As I think everyone know knows me and follows me on Instagram or reads my blogs would know that these are my favourite formula of Liquid Lipsticks and Lipsticks in general! They are super comfortable to wear, lasts all day long, transfer proof, best range of shades and super pigmented with one swipe! So adding another 8 shades to my growing collection has me very excited. I can’t wait to wear all of these shades, I am currently wearing Cherry Wet and I have completely fallen in love with it.

Which shade is your favourite from the collection?

Now because Jeffree Star Cosmetics has so many shades in this line now I always get questions on comparisons of different shades so here is every shade from this collection swatched next to similar shades from the existing shades.

Soft Serve

Thirst Trap – Day Light

Thirst Trap – Flash

Cherry Wet

Coral Fixation and Yummy

Fudge Pop

Huntington Beach

Now finally, what I have been most excited for in this collection. The fourth eyeshadow palette from Jeffree Star Cosmetics – The THIRSTY Palette!!!

This palette has a brand new Ultra-Metallic formula plus the mattes have been improved (didn’t think that was possible) to be even softer with minimal fallout. I love the colour story of this palette and have been dying for a yellow and bright coral shade from Jeffree Star so I am so pumped about this palette. I have used this palette twice this afternoon and I am so impressed by its ease of use and pigmentation but also the minimal fallout and everything blended seamlessly.

Parched is the perfect all over lid shade for me to start any eye look and subtle is a great transition shade.

The ultra metallics have that coarse glitter feel when you touch them (except for Divine and Lick, which are like liquid metal and super smooth) but are comfortable on the eyes and give incredible shine and glitter to any eye look. I found packing them on with a wet synthetic brush or your fingers work best with these metallic shadows to get that intensity.

The mix of shades in this palette means that it is versatile and perfect for everyday looks and also fun colourful looks. This is definitely going to be a well used palette for me and perhaps will become my favourite palette so far from Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

Middle Row – Natural Light

Middle Row – Flash

Tell me what you love about this collection the most and if you have picked up anything from collection 🙂

Here’s the look I created with the Thirsty Palette with Cherry Wet on the lips

I went for a more bronze look with Quench and a tiny bit of Biiiitch! on the inner corner.

  1. What a beautiful collection, the packaging is so gorgeous. Your swatches are perfect, I am really liking the green tones of the eyeshadow shades. Love the look you created.

  2. Thanks for your swatches they are beautiful but I have a question and I will be very grateful if you could answer…. do you think thirst trap is similar to candy ass? Thanks in advance
